A Professional "A" certificate is required in order to qualify for an AQC.  Teachers must also complete one of the four programs outlined below to receive an AQC:

       AQC Certificate Programs

       AQC Integrated Programs

       AQC Journeyperson Certificate

       AQC Technical or Vocational Programs

An AQC is issued only upon the formal application of the teacher.   The date when the SPTRB receives the application will determine the effective date of the certificate.   Applications for an AQC must be completed and submitted online to the SPTRB.  To begin an application, sign in to your Educator Portal.  Click Educators Only > Applications to access the online AQC application form.

The teacher is responsible for ensuring that all official documents required for an evaluation of his or her qualifications are forwarded by the educational institution(s) to the SPTRB. A separate transcript is required from each institution attended.

An evaluation of coursework is made in accordance with the SPTRB Regulatory Bylaws Schedule E and is based upon official transcripts.
