Annual Registration Fees
/ Frais de cotisation annuelle

The 2020/2021 SPTRB Annual Registration period includes Annual Registration fees.

The provincial government has funded the SPTRB via an operating grant since our inception.

A hallmark of professional regulation is operational and financial independence. To ensure financial independence members of the profession provide the funds for the organization’s operations, typically through payment of an annual registration fee. As a member of a professionally regulated profession, each registered teacher is responsible for completing their annual registration and paying the associated registration fee or ensuring that their fee is paid on their behalf by their employer.

The latest collective bargaining agreement included the payment of SPTRB Annual Registration fees by the employer. Additionally, the Ministry of Education has agreed that it will cover the costs for substitute teacher’s Annual Registration fees for the 2020-2021 year. Registered teachers who are working in positions not covered by the collective agreement or are not substitute teachers (i.e. teachers who work for independent schools, First Nations, custody and care facilities, post-secondary institutions, etc.) will be responsible for ensuring their annual registration fee is paid.

The Board of Directors of the SPTRB has set the 2020-2021 Annual Registration fee at $100 plus GST ($105.00).

To facilitate the registration process, we have included instructions below depending on your employment category and have posted answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) below.
